The HLS Democrats is one of the most active and exciting political groups on campus, and the coming year promises to be an especially eventful one. Last year saw an amazing Democratic victory at the national level, and in some key state campaigns, as well. With Democratic control of both the White House and Congress, now is a great time to be involved with the HLS Democrats, an organization that has been a conduit of service for a number of people who played vital roles in last year's Democratic swell.

The HLS Democrats are planning a robust and exciting array of activities during the fall and throughout the remainder of the year to capitalize on those gains. We'll be building on a very busy schedule from last year which included visits with such party leaders as David Plouffe, President Obama's chief campaign manager, and political strategists like Steve Jarding and David King. As a part of our annual trip to Washington, D.C., we had a chance to visit alumni like Congressman Artur Davis (Ala.) and Chris Lu, President Obama's Cabinet Secretary. We also helped provide students with many exciting opportunities to engage in Democratic politics both locally and nationally.

If you are interested in meeting like-minded law students and connecting to the world of politics while inside the bubble of law school, you should get involved with the HLS Democrats. Keep an eye out for our Welcome BBQ in the first few weeks of school!
